So as promised here is my write up of the lovely Nostalgic Wedding Fair. The fair was a really great day. It was held in the striking venue of Winchester Guildhall, which is also a wedding venue. Two of the brides I met on the day are getting married there next year, which was very exciting. I absolutely love Winchester, (I am 100% biased, as I grew up there), so I was very excited to be exhibiting there. It also meant that my parents were able to come and give me a hand with the set up. I think we must have looked very strange carrying the giant paper flowers from the car to the venue! I had the pleasure of seeing so many lovely couples who were all in the process of planning their weddings. It was really interesting to talk to everyone and hear all their different wedding plans. Some people were really organised and weren’t getting married for 2 years. I was not that organised at all when we planned our wedding! We were serenaded by the talented Lady and the Dukes. The music was great and these guys would be fab lively evening entertainment for your wedding. They would definitely get everyone on the dance floor! Aside from the ladies of the moment, the brides, I got to see all the other exhibitors and there were some really amazing companies and individuals there. I’ve picked just a few to share with you. Buttonbunches I met Emily from Buttonbunches who makes beautiful wedding bouquets from gorgeous vintage and modern buttons, beads, brooches, fabric and feathers. I just love the idea of being able to keep your bouquet and it is much more eco friendly than flowers. Not to mention that it won’t be something everyone else has done and Emily can incorporate pieces of meaning or sentimental value into your design. As well as Emily’s bouquet creations, you can choose from lapel flowers, pomanders and wands. Check out her lovely creations here Buttonbunches. Unique Cakes by Yevnig This lady puts Peggy Porschen to shame! Unique Cakes was opposite my table, so I had the beautiful view of all the stunning cakes on offer for this season. Here’s just a few of my favourites. I am not sure I could bear to let any of my guests have a slice, as they are almost too beautiful to cut. If you want to add some of this loveliness to your wedding visit Unique Cakes by Yevnig. Margo’s Millinery Now for all your hat and fascinator needs this is the lady you should visit. She had some striking creations on her table. She has a bridal collection on her website and other designs which would make the Mother of the Bride standout. Not getting married, but love the hats?! Not a problem, Margo also designs for any special occasion such as the races. Her Rosie Beret was my absolute favourite. I just loved the vintage look and the soft pink colour, as well as the delicate fabrics used. Although if you aren’t a pink girl then fear not, as Rosie is available in other colour ways. If you just need a gorgeous headpiece then visit Margo’s Millinery. I throughly enjoyed myself and can’t wait for the next one.
